What is Invisalign®?

How does treatment with Invisalign work?
Before beginning Invisalign treatment, your Image Aesthetic Dentistry provider conducts an oral exam, reviews your dental health history, and takes oral X-rays. After they assess the position of your teeth and jaw, they take digital impressions with an intraoral scanner.
Your provider uploads the impressions to a computer program and develops a blueprint for orthodontic treatment. The blueprint lays out the step-by-step movements of your teeth and jaw. After finalizing a plan, they send your impressions to a dental laboratory. The designers at the lab manufacture your first set of Invisalign oral appliances.
About a week later, you visit Image Aesthetic Dentistry and try on your first pair of aligners. During treatment, you return to the office every 1-2 weeks and transition to a new set. Each set puts mild pressure on your teeth and jaw, gradually moving them into the optimal position.
To ensure treatment goes as planned, wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours every day, only removing them to brush and floss or eat.
How do I keep my Invisalign aligners clean?
Keeping your Invisalign aligners clean doesn’t take much work. The team at Image Aesthetic Dentistry recommends rinsing them several times a day in cool tap water and brushing them with a soft-bristle toothbrush before going to bed.
